Pilot 1.
Exploring EPH retrofit strategies in a single-family building to balance comfort, energy efficiency, and real-world feasibility.
In Luxembourg, the POSIFIT project is being demonstrated through innovative renovation strategies and smart technologies that transform existing residential buildings into energy positive homes, in collaboration with Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology
The pilot covers a total floor area of approximately 250 square meters across multiple buildings.
A total of 20 residential units will be renovated using the POSIFIT approach.
All units aim to become energy-positive through chosen solutions.
The pilot implementation and renovation are expected to be completed over an 18-month timeline.
The project targets a reduction of more than 60% in operational carbon emissions per household.
During the 4th Grand Assembly, the POSIFIT consortium visited the Luxembourg pilot site to gain hands-on insights into the construction process, material choices, retrofit approach, and architectural design strategies.
